Velvet Yoke

Hi there, Egg here.

My Mom finished some knitting some time ago, and now she makes me show it off. It was fun for a while.

See, looking cute and all.

Then she wouldn't stop.

One picture after another. I told her  I had enough. 

Mom, you irk me. This is irksome. I'm leaving. 

Passport

We are going to apply for a passport for our future world traveller. Here's the picture that's going to be in it. (I find it hilarious that Canadian babies actually require a picture in their passports.)

NOT a New Year's resolution

I'm running a bit out of steam. After posting so many pictures of Egg and my knitting, I feel like I need to do something different. Though I have to say that I can't get enough of taking pictures of Egg and seeing her wear what I made.

I think 2009 is going to be a stash busting year. I had a good start already with all the projects for Egg using gifted yarn and I have some more planned using small amounts of stash yarn. All those two or three (or more) balls that I never knew what to do with. You might get bored with yet another sweater knit in the round. Thing is, with knitting so small I prefer having as few seams as possible, and if I wasn't so lazy I would graft the underarm seams instead of binding off and sewing them up later, as it is I cannot be bothered with putting the stitches on holders.

Having said all that, who knows, I might stumble across some absolutely fabulous yarn tomorrow and throw all my good (?) intentions over board. (Noro Cashmere Island. Want. It. Bad. Hmmm, Cashmere!!)

And, when meticulously taken care of, knitted things don't shrink. Or do they?

Coulda Shoulda Woulda

When I started this little project I shoulda contemplated the yardage and size a bit longer - I probably woulda figured that the yarn lasts further than I imagined and then I coulda knit the sleeves long to begin with. As it is, I decided to knit kind of 3/4 sleeves - which, as it turns out, look a bit funny on a three month old. Alas, as Robbie Williams says: No regrets, they don't work.

I present to you the "Fire Tee".

No puke on this one yet, but Egg wore it only for taking the pictures.
