...you just get sucked into it

Had a great holiday season so far? I certainly hope so.

My being in Germany and the only connection to the Internet being dial-up at my Mom's house have prevented earlier blogging.

Some impressions of Christmas in Germany:

My Mom's tree - I decorated it.

Yes, we use real candles. We love to live dangerously. That said, you must know that we only light them for about 30-45 minutes, mostly when presents get unwrapped and we can keep an eye on them. That's it.

Carousel at the Landau Nikolausmarkt.

Turmgasse in Kandel where my Mom lives.

Then there was this:

A nephew to be.

And this:

So you get sucked into knitting this:

That's all I have to say.

I hear you on the slow connection! I'm at my in-laws in italy and not only do they have a slow connection, the keyboard is all weird with keys in the wrong (for me) places! luckily, my husband just bought them a wireless router so they now share a faster DSL connection with their neighbors. much much better!

Awww, what a sweet little baby. =)

I just finished your embossed leaves socks. Amazingly clever. I see myself making many, many more. (I posted them on my blog today if you care to take a peek.)

Yes, those little toes just cry out for booties! And I love the straw stars/snowflakes on your mother's tree. I lived in Germany for 3 years MANY years ago, and bought lots of ornaments - little wooden ones, glass icicles, and straw stars. Unfortunately, most of the straw ones are gone.
