It is my opinion

that knitters must have a certain chemistry going on. You know what I mean. If you love knitting socks, you LOVE knitting socks. Some or other chemical enhancement must be in place that few knitters don't have - the ones that don't like knitting socks. I have rarely met a knitter that didn't get excited over certain types of yarn. Again: must be that knitter's "element". This was so far the only connection I made between chemistry and knitting, which is kinda sad since my husband is a chemist. Until now:

I am going to knit the periodic table. Into socks. Just like that. Thanks to "Epicurus" on Etsy.

All of the above stated has not been scientifically proven in any way and therefore I cannot be blamed if it turns out to be taradiddle.

Right click

It seems a couple of people still have trouble with saving the pdf from the ftp server. I have tried it in Internet Explorer (save target as - works), Firefox (save link as - works), as well as Safari (no trouble whatsoever with just click to download). I can't say about other browsers, but there should always be a possibility enabling you to 'save ... as'.

I don't know what else to tell you. If you can't make it work, e-mail me (link is in the sidebar), I'll send you the pattern - no problem.

The race is on - literally

While I type this the Formula 1 race is on. A short while ago there was a horrible accident - I hope the driver will make it. Seeing how the car was bounced around and flip flopped I almost don't believe it. Stupid sport that is.

A bit later: the driver got lucky and has 'just' a broken leg.
(Ed. to add (June 12): I was informed that Mr Kubica did not break his leg, but just strained his ankle. If you have seen the footage of the crash you know that this is mindboggling. Just sayin'.)

Then there's my private race - way less dangerous, and all accidents can be remedied:

40 more grams to go.

Making plans. Almost there.

Creepy and fun

I am using Statcounter for statistics now. Man, they have loads of information about who comes from where to my blog.

Canadian House of Commons? They have apparently knitters, too.

Who's queen? One search was for "sock queen" and led to here. That'll be my official name now.

Looking at all the information is fun. Knowing that other people have that kind of info about me is kinda creepy. Apart from the fact that I can't be bothered to give a damn, really.

*sigh* It's never as easy as it seems, eh?

Apparently there are problems with the download of the pdf. Before putting it up I tried like ten times (and from different browsers) if it worked, and it did.

Now I am sitting here and it doesn't and I don't know why. If you belong to the group of people who cannot open the file, let me know and I'll send you a copy via e-mail.

Ed. to add:
Angela was so kind to point out if you right click and choose "save target as" or "save link as" it'll download without a hitch. I tried it, and it works. The email is still an option, too.

Free sock pattern - come and get it

In my sidebar you can find now a link to the pdf version of the pattern for the "Dream Twister Socks" (yup, the name stuck).
