Frack, it's hot here in Montreal! I'm melting...my feet and hands are swollen, my fingers resemble sausages and feel uncomfortably stiff. Yikes.
TNNA is going on in Columbus and that's when the Fall 2008 lines are presented. I wish I could join the crowd, there's always so many interesting things to discover. New yarns, new books, designers, authors, just anything and anyone you might want to see.
Since I cannot be at TNNA myself, I'm going to show you two of my designs for Fall 08 here:
This one is knit in one of Reynolds' new yarns, called "Cricket" - it's a 48% wool/52% viscose mix in a DK weight. I enjoyed knitting with it very much! There's waist and bust shaping going on, the sleeve is set in and the little tie just finishes it off nicely, don't you think?
This sweater is of course knit in Reynolds "Whiskey" - I just love "Whiskey"! We have two new colors this fall - an emerald green and a cream white. The lower part of the A-line sweater is a knit and purl pattern, and around the bust I used a two color garter slip stitch pattern.

Your two designs are lovely, Mona. And I don't envy your being pregnant in this heat! Hope you stay cool!
It's hot down here in Oklahoma too, but then... that's no surprise :^)
Both sweaters are gorgeous, I'm particularly drawn to the one knit with 'Whiskey', those colours are SO pretty together!
Brava!
Somehow...I hope you stay cool 'enough' until the heat breaks.
Mona, I just love your two designs! Where will the be available? In a magazine or pamphlet or PDF?
Very nice indeed.. Classic but contemporary at the same time ...
Ooh- they're both nice but I love the first one! I have a black 3/4 sleeve t-shirt with a similar tie and I wore it all the time before getting pregnant with Jakob (and not quite regaining my pre-baby body). Nice work!
I love them both. The ladies in my sons' lives would kill to own either one.
On the heat...get a bucket or a bowl. Fill with cool water. Stick your feet in there so the water comes up well past the ankle bone.
Take a cold wet tea towel, wring it out. Wrap it around the back of your neck so it is wetting your neck bones (spine area)
Never mind if people laugh. You will feel so much better.
(I spent a month in an office in the May in history, 8 months pregnant, with my feet in an old oil bucket full of water...worked for me)
That should have read "the hottest May in history".
duh.
I loved the Whiskey when I saw it at TNNA last year, and I've long wanted to make something with it. Might have to break down and make that sweater -- both are lovely, but the Whiskey one is really calling to me...
Beautiful Mona. Really beautiful.
I loooove your whisky-pullover! And good luck for the last few weeks!
Monika
Do these two patterns have a name? They're lovely. Are they on ravelry yet? I want to queue them!
